Questions from our customers
The nets are made from fine mesh HDPE (high density polyethylene)
Yes you can use the nets for many years. Take the net off after fruiting season and wash with water or a mild detergent and store in the supplied bag for the next season.
Yes
Yes the fine mesh will not allow birds or possums to get caught up in the net.
The nets are designed by Gardenall in Australia for Australian conditions and manufactured in China.
Fruit Fly, Birds, Possums, Rats other rodents, even kangaroos!!
There are two sizes of net. 2M square and 2.5M square. The 2M net will stretch to fit a 3M high tree and the 2.5M net will stretch to fit a 4M tree. The fit depends on the hight and girth of the tree.
It is best to shape the tree before installing the net and keep it trimmed so it is easier to install in subsequent years.
Spring is the best time once the flowers have finished and the bees have pollinated the fruit, and they are about the size of a pea, then cover the tree with the net. Once the fruit has been harvested then remove the net to allow the tree to grow naturally before pruning in Autumn for the next season.
Undo the zip on either side and then using two pieces of conduit or broom sticks lift the net over the tree and then do up the zips and tie the cords around the tree trunk. Instructions are included in the net bag.

π Gardenall Fruit Tree Net Installation Checklist
1. Timing
β Wait until after pollination (fruit is peaβsized) so bees arenβt blocked.
β Best done in spring before pests arrive in numbers.
2. Preparation
β Prune tree lightly if branches are sticking out too far.
β Clear the ground around the base (remove stakes, sharp objects).
β Have two poles or long sticks ready to help lift the net.
3. Positioning the Net
β Unfold the net fully on the ground.
β With a helper (and using poles), lift the net over the top of the tree.
β Make sure the zipper opening is aligned where you want access.
4. Securing the Net
β Pull the net down evenly on all sides.
β Zip it closed fully from the bottom to the top.
β Tie one side of the trunk ropes then pull around the tree trunk and tie the other side.
β Ensure the net is tied tightly around the tree trunk
5. Wildlife Safety Check
β Confirm mesh is not snagged on branches.
β Check there are no holes or loose edges where birds/possums could enter.
β Avoid leaving loose folds where animals could get tangled.
6. During the Season
β Open the zipper only when harvesting or checking fruit.
β Inspect weekly for damage or gaps.
β Shake off leaves or debris that may weigh down the net.
7. End of Season
β Remove net after harvest.
β Wash with mild soapy water if dirty.
β Dry completely before folding and storing in a cool, dry place in the bag provided.
β‘ Pro tip: If youβre covering multiple trees, label each net with a tag so you know which size fits which tree next season.
